Our Deacons

Leon Johnson
Leon Johnson

Leon was born to Cecil and Lillian Johnson in 1939 in Elmore City, Oklahoma. He was baptized into Christ in 1957. Leon married Elaine Waters in 1963 and they have four children - Dean, Kendon, Darla, and Molly. They moved to Natchitoches in 1982 when Leon took the position of Track and Field Coach at NSU. Elaine has worked for the Postal Service since 1979 and will retire in January, 2005, and will then devote her time to church activities, grandchildren, the community theatre, and keeping "the boss" happy. Leon was appointed a deacon in the Grand Ecore church of Christ about 1986 and has served as treasurer, and has taught classes and worked with the college group for 22 years.

Tim Page

Tim was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1963. In 1983 he graduated from Northwestern State University with an associate degree in drafting technology. He was employed by the Natchitoches Parish Assessors Office in 1989 and currently serves as a deputy assessor. Tim married his wife, Brenda, in 1992. She is a school teacher and they have one child, Rachel.

Jerry Snow
Jerry Snow

Jerry was born in 1939 and has been a Christian since the age of 13. He was appointed a deacon in June 2004. Jerry and his wife Joyce moved to Natchitoches in 1966 and have lived here ever since, except for a time between 1997 and 2000, when they lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas, shortly after Jerry retired. Jerry and Joyce have been married for forty-eight years. They have two children and seven grandchildren.

Jerry was born in 1945 and has been a Christian since the age of 13. He has been a deacon For the past 20 years of which 10 have been in Natchitoches. Jerry, and his wife Paula, moved to Natchitoches in 1992. Jerry and Paula have been married for 36 years. They have three children and two grandchildren.

Freddy Maricelli
Freddy Maricelli

Freddy was born in Natchitoches in 1956. He and his wife Karen have three children, Kristin, Jared, and Jason, who have all been baptized into Christ. Freddy has worked in the paper industry for 25 years. Karen worked at NSU until their first child was born, then she decided to stay home and raise their children.
